Java Backend Developer

In a nutshell:

The project plan currently calls for work throughout the entire coming year
Prague (60% onsite / 40% remote)
Collaboration as an independent contractor
Start date: ideally in early September; the ability to start as early as mid-August is a major plus

The project focuses on sharing client data across the entire financial group, specifically in the area related to AML regulations, where the bank requires information from selected clients regarding, for example, the source of funds, transactions with high-risk countries, and so on.

Job Description:

Design and development of a new backend primarily in Kotlin
Separation of AML functionality from the existing Party Manager backend into a new service&
Design and implementation of a REST API
Integration with other systems within the banking/financial group
Working with Oracle databases and creating/testing data, where knowledge of PL/SQL is beneficial
Integration with Kafka
Development of a containerized application running on OpenShift
Collaboration with analysts, developers, and other stakeholders
Contributing to the design of technical solutions and the improvement of development processes

Requirements :

Advanced knowledge of Kotlin and a solid understanding of Java
Experience with the Spring Framework / Spring Boot
Experience with designing and implementing REST APIs
Good knowledge of design patterns and the ability to apply them in practice
Familiarity with integration development and backend services
Experience with Maven
Knowledge of working with relational databases, ideally Oracle
Knowledge of PL/SQL, at least for working with test data, is a plus
Experience with Kafka integration
Experience with containerization and the OpenShift environment
Experience with GitHub, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions
Knowledge of testing and mocking frameworks
Very good knowledge of the IntelliJ IDEA environment
Business English

A plus:

Experience in a banking or large corporate environment
Knowledge of AML/KYC processes or client onboarding
Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with cloud/container development
Familiarity with tools such as SonarQube or Enterprise Architect
